Like most children, my daughter's favorite thing to do is play outside. Here are some ideas that I have found while doing some research, as well as some of the things we already do, in no particular order. For the record, I have REALLY learned a lot in my research for this post and already have a to-do list for our family. Be sure to click on the highlighted words, as they are hyperlinked.
- Take Your Camera for a Walk (LOVE this!)
- Homemade Sidewalk Chalk
- Visiting a farm/farm animals
- Backyard Camp-out (invite all of their friends and their parents)
- Sandbox (build your own even!)
- Bird-watching: Reserve a special place for a bird feeder in your yard
- Wagon rides
- Berry/apple picking: Great seasonal activity; Children get to see how fruit grows )
- Blowing-bubble fun
- Soccer
- Flower and Leaf Press (Laney LOVES to pick flowers!)
- Twig Picture Frame (Great Christmas tree ornament!)
- Pick pumpkins at a Pumpkin Farm and carve them with your kids (or paint directly on them)
- Plant a tree and watch it grow! (take pics of the tree next to your children every year)
- Ice-candle (pre-school and up)
- Kids Dig Gardening
- Backyard Fall Fellowship: Invite families over and have everyone dress up in country attire: hay stacks, apple bobbing
- Outdoor games for Toddlers
- Outdoor games for ages 3-5
- Find your nearest park to play
- Allow your younger children to hold your dog's leash and "walk your dog" like adults

Yeah girl, that's what I thought when I came across that. I know it's cheap at the store anyways, but it's the lesson and the excitement that the kids would have in making it. :)
We will be painting pumpkins next week :)
