Ask a POH author!

Hi everyone! We're going to take the rest of this week off. We need to finalize the schedule for the rest of the year. Get excited - there are some new things planned! We'll post that new schedule later this week. In the meantime, we need YOUR input for a fun week we have planned.

This is your chance to...

Ask an Author any question you've been dying to ask!

We'll do our best to answer all of them to the best of our ability.

(disclaimer: we are not opening ourselves up for questions because we have all the answers - we do NOT. This is more for fun, but also to share our experiences and help you in any way we can!)

Here are some examples of what we're thinking:

"Krista, how long have you been making your own bread?"
"Leah, do your boys share a bedroom? How does that work?"

Try to keep the questions specific and not too general. They can be for a specifc author or for anyone in general. We don't want these to require long answers and tons of research!

You can use this post to leave your question via comment OR you can email us!

Thanks, readers!

I think it would be great to hear how you all met your husbands!

or..

I also am interested in what got you all started with grinding your own flour and making bread and what resources you would suggest for someone who would like to start!

The biggest question on my mind is since I found out I'm expecting a baby boy, how to I raise him to be a godly man? It seems like so many boys today are either rowdy and uncontrolled or wimpy and girly.

What made you decide to promote your child out of a crib into a toddler bed? I have a 10 month old that isn't ready to be promoted out but I am just wondering. How did you guys go about doing that and getting them to stay in the bed?

You all have small children...what are the age differences? Who has children closest in age and how does that work out more than one little one?

We're getting ready to move overseas (Central Asia) in a few months-I'd love to know from Krista and Stacey what it was like when they arrived initially-culture shock/language learning/cooking/being a mommy!

I would love to know how any of you put your kids to bed at night. My 2 1/2 year old refuses to lay down in her bed by herself at night and go to sleep on her own. Once she is asleep...she stays that way all night, but it is a battle every night to get her to sleep. Just wondering what kind of bedtime routine you all use to get your kids around this age to go to sleep!

I have a 16 month old and just found out that I am pregnant! Our children will be sharing a room. So I have several questions about the "how to's" of sharing a room. I would love for Leah to walk me through the process of introducing the baby into the toddler's room, what do about when the baby cries (not wanting to always rush in immediately), scheduling naps and bedtime, etc...

Thanks so much!

I can't wait to read the answers to the questions already posted! Okay, my question is for my biggest struggle right now.

I know that you all don't do everything, and that it's not possible to do all that we do...all the time. But lately - the past 6 or 8 months - I've been really struggling with my motivation to do the things that I know I need to do in a timely and cheerful manner. As in, I frequently let the dirty supper dishes sit until 10:30 at night, when I drrrrrag myself off the sofa with my hubs to finally get to it. I feel like I'm procrastinating and waiting until the last possible minute to get lots of things done.

Any tips for inspiration, motivation, etc? Any particular verses/passages/ Christian non-fiction that have impacted any of you in a big way in this area? I'm tired of feeling like I'm always behind, but more, I'm tired of feeling like my work within the home is a burden. :o/ I know the Truth that it is all work done to glorify God within my home to my family and guests, but lately I'm just really having a hard time transferring that knowledge in my head into action coming from a cheerful heart.

This is such a great idea. I, too, want more info on little ones and room sharing particularly 2 under 2). Thanks so much for this blog!

Also, how do you handle the negative responses in social situations to your being a SAHM??

Where can I find the responses to these questions? I have several of the same ones.

I am still struggling with juggling my 2 kids, 34 months and 8 months. I want to get my schedule / routine back. Any tips for managing 2 young children? (specifically grocery shopping, bath times, meal times)

Also agree with Lauren; I relate to her A LOT! I want to do everything to God's glory, but so many times I procrastinate and do it out of feeling like I have to...

Looking forward to responses and future topics!
Mariah
