Begging for help

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions--please keep them coming!!

As our faithful readers have probably noticed, our schedule of topics has run out! Not to fear, we will still be posting over the next few weeks as we work on a new schedule for the fall. Please check back OFTEN to see what we are posting--I can't tell you, it is a complete surprise (as in, we aren't even sure ourselves)!

But as for our new fall schedule, we need your help. Please comment on this post and let us know what topics you want us to discuss. This blog exists to glorify God and encourage the many women (and few men) who read it, so please let us know how we can serve you. We want to talk about your suggested topics, so bring them on! If you don't make suggestions, you may be forced to read repeated reports of how cute our kids are, or how much money we saved on groceries, or how great Southeastern Seminary is. We can't carry that on forever, so we look forward to hearing from you.

I love your blog... was at SEBTS for quite a few years and reluctantly moved to SC a couple years back.

A topic idea...All of us young moms have mom friends having babies, just like us. Something I struggle with then is appropriate meals to take to these moms. Meals that might be easy to freeze so they can be heated when needed. Any ideas? Stuff that works for you?

Also... since moving away from totally awesome Wake Forest, we've joined a very small church with mostly older folks. Any suggestions on how to find good mentors for moms? SF and SEBTS was chock full of them, and now I feel in desert land concerning that.

Keep up the great work! Your blog is inspiring, challenging, and wonderful!

I would love to know what passages that you guys are currently reading and what you found interesting or applicable. I think it would also be fun to do a book club of sorts!

I am interested in learning about some very intentional ways to teach my little ones the Bible. Not just the stories, but Scripture memorization for non readers.

Also, you've talked about discipline in the past but I find the most challenging time to discipline is when we're out in public. I'd love to know how you handle your children when there are lots of people around and you can't just take them into another room.

Thanks!

I'd love to know if any of you (moms) have tried to return to school (college, grad school, etc) and how you managed it with babies and small children.

Also, I'm in a young moms bible study at my church and we would love some suggestions on book/bible studies on topics like parenting, being a wife, etc.

Topics that would be interesting:
1. Extra-curricular activites for kids ie dance gymnstics etc...
2. Sibling Rivalry (WOW this is horrible right now)
3. Craft Ideas and More Recipes I have loved those posts in the past so more is always good:)
4. Hobbies and how your incorperate your children.
5. How to get quality time with husbands when you neverhave babysitters
6. Ministries you are involved in
7. How to get your kids involved in community service and minsitry.
Ideas for women's groups or mom's playdate groups
8. Playdate ideas/themes

Okay that is all I can think of right now you ladies all do a wonderful job and since I lead all of our churches women;s ministries etc... I don't have a lot of ministering to myself and I appreciate how this blog encourages me so much and is a support group even though I do not know most of you personally. You have also been a great source of ideas and such for my family and my ministry In fact many of your writers I haunt your personal family blogs :) Hollie thanks so much for your sewing and craft projects, Meg for your recipes and Christina for some of your deals and organizing. I use them all. Blessings

We have lived overseas for 5 years now and both of our children were born over here. We travel A LOT as a family. And it isn't typical American travel...it is hours upon hours in planes, trains and bumpy car rides without car seats. I would love to hear from those living overseas how they travel long distance with little bitty one.

How do you teach you child a healthy fear of strangers? My child who will be 4 in September asks people in the grocery store if they need a hug....
