Small Sewing Projects

Taggie Blanket
I've never seen a "real" taggie blanket in real life, but I've had friends describe them to me. I thought it would be a pretty simple thing to make.

Materials
Ribbon scraps (I used 14 4-6" pieces)
Baby blanket

Cut the baby blanket into two pieces (or to whatever size you want your taggie blanket). Lay the two pieces right sides together. Pin your ribbon with the loop inside and the edges coming out the top (see photo below). Sew around the entire blanket except for the last 4 inches and then remove the pins. Turn the blanket inside-out and then stitch the opening closed. That's it!

Sleep Sack
I wanted to buy one of the official sleep sacks for Joel, but thought of this and realized that it would be really easy and free to me!

Materials
Baby blanket

Fold the baby blanket in half right sides together. Sew around three sides. Turn right sides out. That's it! I used a fleece blanket and I put it around Joel like a sleeping bag. It keeps him warm and I don't have to worry about him getting it up on his face.
