A Re-do on Sleeping

Posted by  | Wednesday, June 4, 2008  at 8:19 PM
As soon as I knew this week's topic would be "one thing I would do differently", I knew that I would post about our sleep battle with Samuel. Lucky for me, I've already written about it back when we covered scheduling. Please read about our experience here.

We are moving this week into our new house. There is a lot of work to be done at the new place, including painting, stripping wallpaper, replacing carpet, knocking out a wall, and all the little jobs that come with moving. Needless to say, we are a little busy around here!

I hope you enjoy this week's posts and please feel free to share anything you would do differently - us new moms have a lot to learn!

Hey, this is off topic, but I am 21 weeks and have begun to have bad leg cramps at night! I have tried potassium, more water, more exercise...nothing seems to help. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thank you Leah. I'm a new mom of a wonderful little boy and have found myself struggling with what "the books say". Its encouraging to know other moms have and will continue to go thru the same things. Thank you for your encouragment!

KC-
I had the same thing! My doctor suggested Magnesium; maybe you can talk to your doctor about that?

I have been reading this blog for a while and have found it to be a true encouragement. I am having difficulty with getting my oldest to sleep in his own bed. I'll admit I tried to let him cry it out but after three hours and he still wasn't asleep I gave up. I need my sleep as well. Now my youngest sleeps fine. I lay him down when it is time for sleep he babbles a bit occasionally I have to go and give him back his pacifier and off to sleep he goes. It really goes to show that each child is different. Right now my hubby is working third shift so cosleeping is not a problem but on the nights my husband has off it is a bit of an inconvenience. I know I just keep paraying that the Lord will keep my eyes open to His will and that I will know when it is truly time to move my oldest to his own bed. Not to others nagging me about it (no my husband doesn't complain it is actually his fault we ultimately ended up in this situation.)

Hey, this is totally off topic, but I discovered a coupon last night that I thought some of you ladies might enjoy using. The Picture People are giving a free 8x10 or 10x13 picture away (one per family) until June 14th. The coupon is located at

http://www.picturepeople.com/promotion/email/fday_2008/web_landing_fathersday.html

or you can google "the picture people" and there is a link to the coupon on their home page. There is no sitting fee and, supposedly, your print is ready in an hour. For the ladies in the Wake Forest area, there is a studio at Town Center Mall. I hope someone can use this. I am all about free professional pictures (even if it is only 1.)

Ok, I don't know why the link didn't completely show up and I can't figure out how to make the website show up as a clickable link in a blogger comment. I would recommend just googling "the picture people" and going from there. :)
